Background introduction
300t/h crushing project is one sub-project of concentrating mill project of iron ore in Zanhuang, Hebei Province. As the first part in mineral processing flow for iron ore, its most important task is to crush the raw ore to smallest granularity possible so as to reach purpose of “More-crushing, Less-grinding” and reduce energy consumption for ore grinding in the process of mineral separation. In detail, crushing project of iron ore in Zanhuang, Hebei Province requires to crush the raw ore to be smaller than 10mm.

Scheme design
In order to guarantee stable feeding in ore grinding stage (generally running for 24 hours), it adopts double-line configuration in crushing stage. The configuration of equipments for two production lines is completely same. Even though equipments for either line have faults, another production can operate normally so as to guarantee the feeding in ore grinding stage. The iron content of such iron ore is about 40%. In consideration the relatively high hardness of the iron ore, this crushing process mainly applies jaw crusher and cone crusher.
ZSW-490×110 vibrating feeder and PE-750×1060 jaw crusher are applied in the primary crushing stage. The maximum feeding granularity of PE-750×1060 jaw crusher is 630mm. If there is larger material in raw material, it is necessary to pre-crushed by other construction equipment. After primary crushing, the dimension of the material is crushed to be about 150mm. The material discharged from the primary crushing is conveyed to the secondary crushing by belt conveyor and gets crushed by PYFB1324 compound cone crusher. After the treatment in secondary crushing stage, the granularity of material drops to about 30mm. The material after secondary crushing is conveyed to YK-2460 vibrating screen by belt conveyor. Such vibrating screen is single layer screen and its mesh diameter is 10mm. The screened material with diameter smaller than 10mm is conveyed to ore grinding stage by belt conveyor; the material with diameter larger than 10mm is conveyed to the third-stage crushing and gets crushed by PYFB1308 compound cone crusher. The material discharged from third-stage crushing is conveyed to vibrating screen and gets screened and separated.
Through “three-section closed-hoop” crushing system, the raw material is effectively crushed to granularity <10mm, making preparation for the follow-up ore grinding.
